Update and How Hypnosis Helps Me (Anxiety, EDNOS, BPD)

In this vlog, I discuss an update on how I’ve been doing with a recent episode of emotional dysregulation, but the focus is on how hypnotherapy / hypnosis helps me with issues around EDNOS (Eating Disorder Not Otherwise Specified).

There are trigger warnings before I speaking about the EDNOS issues, and the rest is all about how a typical hypnosis session works and what to expect (based on my experience). It’s really interesting stuff!

Thanks for watching and reading.

More Soon.

This video was super helpful and interesting to me, as I've been considering hypnotherapy for awhile now, because everyone who does it always says that they have gotten something out of it!

I am just curious though, without you having to state anything too personal, what sort of "messages" can hypnotherapy help with? Can it help adjust your thought processes, or does it make you more open to a different way of thinking by repeating it to you? I am very curious about how it works as I think I will give it a try!

Thanks for posting as always, and so glad to hear you are feeling better 🙂 Love, Jess xox

Thanks for sharing your ups…and your downs. 🙂 Your openness and vulnerability in sharing your experience inspires and motivates many people. I love your commitment to consistently turning your mind to how you will be able to use your skills and work towards healing. No shame in having struggles, the hard days, and reaching out for support. We're all here for you and not going anywhere. <3

On a related note pertaining to hypnotherapy: I found it incredibly helpful during the early stages of my gender transition pre-hormones. It helped me release into my authentic self with less fear and anxiety. There's also a lot of research out there showing that hypnotherapy for gender transition can start to alter your balance of hormones as well. I'm convinced that hypnotherapy did that for me BEFORE I started taking hormones, as my skin began to get softer and my body hair became less course and lighter. Now, if that's not underscoring the power of this healing modality and the mind-body connection, I don't know what is. I'm glad it helps you, and I hope your appointment goes well. 🙂

I'm so glad you enjoyed this video, Jess! It's honestly been such a huge help in my ongoing healing and recovery.

As far as the "messages," I think the sensibilities are endless! You get to choose what you want to shift. What you CAN'T do in hypnotherapy is put thoughts in that go against your values. These won't "take" or work. You can start to shift your perspective to be more flexible with your values, though, if you feel that would be helpful to you.

Thank you for your loving kindness and for taking the time to comment.

You get to decide "where" your mind will go. When I talked in the video about how my hypnotherapist required a release from my therapist, at that time, my therapist did NOT approve the sessions for returning to historical, past events like abuse, because I wasn't ready. So, you can set that limit before the session even starts and just focus on how to get your mind where you need it to be in the here and now. I hope this helps.

Aeshe, thank you for your kind, encouraging words. Hearing these things motivate me to keep doing what I'm doing in this arena. Thank you for also reassuring me that you're not going anywhere. 🙂

Thanks for sharing your experience with hypnotherapy. This is SO awesome — and I believe that your experience will help encourage a LOT of people. I have a video request from you — would you consider doing a video response on Youtube to my vid — about YOUR experience with the power of hypnosis? I think that would be awesome!

Thanks, Debbie. 🙂 That's actually a fantastic idea! I was trying to brainstorm earlier about some transgender related videos I could do and I just came up blank. Now that I feel very comfortable in my gender, it's just not on my mind a lot, and I feel like I'm neglecting the bulk of my subscribers big time. :/ This is a great way to do a bit of that and address hypnosis! Hope you're doing well tonight! <3 Aeshe

This is a big help, thank you for explaining. I think I have a much better understanding of how I might be able to use this therapy tool. Before my understanding level was at the clucking chicken!

Thanks for broadening my mind and horizons xox
