Who Are You Really? Non Judgment and Identity Issue with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD)

This week for a writing class, I had to choose a poem to write about.  I chose this one and submitted my assignment this morning. The poem so powerfully moved me that I decided to share it with all of you as well:

Let go of your worries

by Jalāl ad-Dīn Muhammad Balkhī (Persianجلال‌الدین محمد بلخى‎)

Let go of your worries
and be completely clear-hearted,
like the face of a mirror
that contains no images.
If you want a clear mirror,
behold yourself
and see the shameless truth,
which the mirror reflects.
If metal can be polished
to a mirror-like finish,
what polishing might the mirror
of the heart require?
Between the mirror and the heart
is this single difference:
the heart conceals secrets,
while the mirror does not.

Christina Aguilera’s song, “Reflections” may also move you to think about these issues.

My identity disturbance is i struggle being attracted mentally, emotionally, and physically to other women. I develop "crushes" on other women; right now i have a crush on the receptionist at my dr's office and i can't stop thinking about her and i even sneek peeks of her pics on facebook. The thing is, I am a married woman, to a man, and will be married to him for 11 years this august. My husband knows i struggle with being attracted to other women; i just don't go into details; like telling him who i'm attracted to. HELP

i love my husband, i really really do; he has been there for me since day one; i just struggle with being attracted to women; the thing is being attracted/having relationships with the same sex goes against my beliefs; i'm just confused and i need someone to talk to

I have those feelings at times, there is nothing wrong to have a spectrum of attraction for the same gender, even if you are hetero. I would let go of your "beliefs" and figure out what you really feel and want. I think it would be helpful to talk to someone because you deserve to be true to who you are, accept, embrace and love yourself.
